I don't normally write about the 7th Circuit, but this one caught my eye (predictably, it's Judge Posner, again).
In Rodriguez v. Briley, the court seems to reach the right result in dismissing the plaintiff's section 1983 claim - the plaintiff's alleged 8th Amendment claim is, really, of his own making. Also, I cannot deny the fact that Judge Posner can be an entertaining writer. But the bit about the plaintiff's weight, as well as the overall length of the order ( Judge Posner spends 3 pages on something that could have been disposed by an unpublished memorandum disposition), seems to be to be completely over-the-top.
